Meghan Markle 'Likely' To Launch Bid To Become US President, According To Biographer

Her ambition, self-confidence, conviction and public speaking skills mean she has 'all the makings' to be a strong candidate.

A biographer reckons Meghan Markle has her sights set a little higher (depending on how you look at it) than the British Royal family.

Tom Bower believes the Duchess of Sussex is biding her time before she launches a bid to become US President.

According to the Daily Mail, the author has signed a deal to write the actor-cum-Royal's unauthorised biography.

He's already published books on Boris Johnson, Prince Charles and Robert Maxwell and his next target is the former Suits actor.

Knowing everything about a person's life can help paint a picture of their future and Bower reckons he has a good idea of where she is going.

Speaking to Closer Magazine, the biographer said: "The prospect of Meghan running for president is possible and I'd even say likely. I really believe it's where she sees herself going."

He added that she has all the makings to be a strong candidate for the White House, despite not having a single bit of political experience (worked out for Donald Trump though).

Bower praised her for her ambition, self-confidence, conviction and public speaking skills, but warned she would need to have a tough skin if she wanted to enter the world of politics.

"[Politicians are] probably the public figures who face the most backlash. I really think she would struggle. She'd need to learn to take the heat," he said.

"We've seen through the reports about her staff members quitting and moving on that she doesn't seem to be able to hold onto her team."

The Duchess of Sussex has been accused of bullying her assistants, which has sparked a Buckingham Palace investigation.

The Times newspaper aired statements from a former staffer who claims Meghan Markle drove out two personal assistants when she was a working member of the Royal family.

There are also claims she left staff at Kensington Palace 'humiliated' on several occasions.

In a rare statement, Buckingham Palace said it was taking the allegations seriously and will look into whether they are true.

"We are clearly very concerned about allegations in The Times following claims made by former staff of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex," the statement said.

"Accordingly our HR team will look into the circumstances outlined in the article. Members of staff involved at the time, including those who have left the household, will be invited to participate to see if lessons can be learned.

"The Royal Household has had a Dignity at Work policy in place for a number of years and does not and will not tolerate bullying or harassment in the workplace."

A complaint was reportedly lodged in October 2018, claiming Meghan's behaviour led to two staff members leaving the household.

The Sussexes hit back at the allegations and said they were dropped ahead of their highly anticipated interview with Oprah in an attempt to smear their name and character.
