The Netherlands' Eurovision entry, Joost Klein, is reportedly not rehearsing until 'further notice' due to an unexplained incident.

Klein is said to be under investigation by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) over the alleged incident, which saw him miss the show's dress rehearsal on Friday (10 May).

While he had taken part in the parade at the beginning of the rehearsal, Klein did not arrive on stage to perform his track, Europapa, 30 minutes later.

It was later confirmed that he would not be performing in the rehearsal at all.

It's not yet been confirmed if the 26-year-old will perform at the Eurovision Song Contest final on Saturday, which is being held in Malmo, Sweden.

The EBU said in a statement: “The investigation into the incident with the Dutch artist in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest is still ongoing.

“Discussions are also taking place between the EBU and Avrotros, the Dutch participating broadcaster.

“While the investigation continues, the EBU has decided that Joost Klein will not perform during dress rehearsal two of the competition, which is voted on by juries in the 37 participating countries.

“His performance from semi-final two will be used instead.”

The statement also said that he will not be 'rehearsing until further notice' and they had 'no further comment at this time and will update in due course', Sky News reports.

LADbible has reached out to Dutch broadcaster, Avrotros, for comment.

At a news conference on Thursday (9 May) Klein had spoken out after Israeli entry, Eden Golan, was asked a question about security and whether she thought she was causing a security risk to other participants.

Swedish Eurovision presenter Jovan Radomir, told Golan she did not have to answer the question, before Klein shouted: "Why not?"

There are 26 countries set to compete for first place in Saturday's Eurovision final.

Earlier this week, British entry Olly Alexander spoke out following criticism of his semi-final Eurovision performance on Tuesday evening (7 May).

Appearing on ITV's Lorraine on Wednesday, Olly discussed his experience and the backlash he had received.

"This whole Eurovision experience is wild," he explained.

"Last night was amazing. It was the first time performing in the arena and on TV. It was just... yeah, it was amazing. I had a slight wardrobe malfunction - my mic pack fell off - and had to improvise but that's fine.

"It's live TV, it happens."

Lorraine reassured Olly over his performance, adding: "You did so, so well with that. I think a lot of people - I noticed it - but I think a lot of people wouldn't have noticed that the mic came away.

"So you're having to adapt, so well done on that. And also, what a naughty performance I'm glad to say! I thought it was fantastic - those dancers! They are just fantastic!"
