Just when you thought those tiny bits of plastic called Ooshies were going to be left in 2019, they're back.

Woolworths has announced a new slew of collectible items that will no doubt cause parents to rush to the supermarket to ensure their kid has a whole set.

Last year, there were dozens of Lion King Ooshies that were being sold for thousands of dollars online.

The campaign is back, but this time they're getting a broader Disney twist.

There will be 36 new items to collect (yay for mum and dad) and it will bring together characters from across the Mickey Mouse universe.

You'll be able to get Ooshies in the form of Frozen's Elsa, Captain Marvel from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Toy Story's Woody, and the Mandalorian from the Disney+ Star Wars spin-off.

The Walt Disney Company's Australia and New Zealand Senior Vice President Kylie Watson Wheeler said: "When Disney+ launched in Australia in November last year, it quickly captured the hearts of millions of Australians by bringing together the world's biggest entertainment brands on one streaming service.

"We are excited that Aussies can now get their hands on a world exclusive Disney+ Ooshies collection only at Woolworths."

Customers will receive an Ooshie if they spend more than $30 in store.

The new campaign will kick off on August 26, so you have plenty of time to clear your pantry and get your home ready for an influx of groceries.

For those complaining about the plastic, you can recycle these bad boys at Woolworths supermarkets until early next year.

Woolworths Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Hicks said they're excited to kick off another round of Ooshies.

"We're thrilled to offer a new level of excitement to Woolworths customers with some of the most iconic characters in the Disney+ universe.

"With families spending more time at home, possibly watching their favourite Disney+ movies or series, they can now enjoy Disney+ Ooshies as added value to their everyday shop at Woolworths.

"It's been a difficult year as Australians navigate the challenges of the pandemic, so our goal by partnering with Disney once again is to bring more magic, surprise, and delight to our customers.

Sadly for shoppers in Victoria, the new round of Ooshies is being delayed until the second wave of coronavirus infections drops.

Mr Hicks continued: "We know some customers in Victoria will be disappointed by the delayed roll out, but the safety and wellbeing of our customers, team members, and community remains our number one priority. The delay will allow our team to focus on operations and supplying customers with their everyday essentials during this challenging period."
