The internet loves conspiracy theories and while many of them deal with high-level things like government surveillance and assassinations, the latest one out of Australia is a little different.

Scott Morrison updates his followers on Facebook about his cooking prowess all the time.

He explained over the weekend that he was cooking for his wife and daughters while dealing with Sydney's coronavirus lockdown.

The post was meant to be about expressing solidarity with Greater Sydney residents who are staying at home and he showed off how he made dinner for his family.

He wrote: "Saturday night is curry night, so will be back in the kitchen this afternoon to make one of the girls' favourites."

The Prime Minister then uploaded a photo of all the ingredients in a comment underneath the post, followed by: "Beef and potato Massaman curry for tonight. Prep done."

He then added another picture of the finished product and it raised many questions.

For starters, there was a bowl of potatoes in the preparation photo and they can't be seen anywhere in the meal. There's the possibility that it could be underneath all the other ingredients however it was bizarre to not see a single diced spud.

Secondly, there were three cans of coconut milk and one of coconut cream, which would indicate the curry should be drowning in the white stuff. Yet, the completed dinner looks devoid of said milkiness and creaminess.

Not having made a massaman curry before, I can't be sure, however others reckon it's just another photo opportunity designed to make Mr Morrison appear like one of us.

One person wrote: "#ScottyFromMarketing posts two photos. Prep & final dish. Anyone see the problem? There's not four cans of coconut milk in that curry. There's no potatoes in that curry. This is all staged and fake."

Another added: "Fake news! Another managed PR drop to cover up #MorrisonFailure. Don't think Scott Morrison cooked a curry like he stated he was going to."

A third suggested: "Person who selected photos from old ones has no idea what a Mussaman (sic) curry looks like. And where did the spinach come from? Totally different curry than ingredients shown. Fake. Like him."

It's very possible that all the ingredients that Mr Morrison posted did indeed go into his dish that he served up. But can anyone be really sure?

He shared the recipe for others to replicate in their homes so maybe they can be the true judges.
