Dog the Bounty Hunter has made a startling claim amid the search for Brian Laundrie.

The 23-year-old is a 'person of interest' in the disappearance of his fiancée Gabby Petito, whose body was found in Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park earlier this month.

Gabby and Brian were touring national parks in the US and documenting their trip on social media. However, the 22-year-old's family hadn't heard from her for two weeks and reported her missing on September 11.

Laundrie is also wanted on a federal arrest warrant from the FBI for allegedly fraudulently using a bank card that wasn't his to withdraw money after Gabby was last seen alive.

The couple had been travelling around national parks together.

The 23-year-old returned to his parent's place at the beginning of this month before telling them he was going hiking in Florida and hasn't been seen since, sparking a massive manhunt.

Dog the Bounty Hunter has joined in on the search after getting hundreds of messages urging him to offer his services.

In just a few hours, it looks like Duane Chapman got a whiff of where Laundrie has been.

He's told Fox News about a campsite he's found that he reckons Laundrie and this two parents stayed at earlier this month.

Dog revealed he got a tip that Chris and Roberta Laundrie allegedly entered the Fort De Soto Park with their son twice in early September from September 1-3 and September 6-8.

"They were registered, went through the gate. They're on camera. They were here," he told Fox News.

"We think at least if he's not here right now, we are sure he was caught on camera as he went in the gate - that he was here for sure. Not over in the swamp.

"Allegedly, what we're hearing, is two people left on the 8th. Three people came in on the 6th, and two people left on the 8th. I think he's been here for sure."

Despite these claims, the lawyer for Chris and Roberta claims they have no clue what has happened to their son.

Attorney Steven Bertolino said in a statement: "They are concerned about Brian and hope the FBI can locate him.

"The speculation by the public and some in the press that the parents assisted Brian in leaving the family home or in avoiding arrest on a warrant that was issued after Brian had already been missing for several days is just wrong."

The FBI hasn't commented on Dog's latest claims.
