Amber Heard has taken the stand for the final time and Johnny Depp's lawyer wasted no time tearing shreds off the Aquaman star.

During the savage cross-examination, attorney Camille Vasquez made some tough points to the 36-year-old actor.

"Your lies have been exposed to the world multiple times," Vasquez said, before moving on to Kate Moss' testimony.

"When you told this jury you punched Mr Depp because you thought of M. Depp pushing Kate Moss down the stairs, you didn't expect Miss Moss to testify that never happened."

Heard denied her accusations, telling Vasquez she knew 'how many people will come out of the woodwork to support Johnny' during the fiery exchange.

"Everybody who was around in the '90s and early '00s knew that rumour," Heard said.

"Of course that's what flashed through my head when my violent husband not only swung for me but all of a sudden swung for my sister. Of course I thought of that."

She then added that she did not expect Moss to make an appearance during the trial, but said it 'did not matter'.

"It did not change what I thought on the stairs when I thought he was going to kill my sister," Heard said.

Vasquez rounded on the actor again, pointing out the number of people who testified for Heard's ex-husband.

But Heard hit back, explaining that was precisely why she wrote the opinion piece at the centre of the defamation claim.

"I know how many people will come out and say whatever for him," Heard said.

"That's his power. That's why I wrote that op-ed. He is a very powerful man and people love currying favour with powerful men."

When it was Heard's lawyer's turn, the 36-year-old became emotional.

"Johnny promised me, promised me he would ruin me, that'd he ruin my career, he'd take my life from me, death was the only way out and if I got out, this is what he'd do to me," she said.

"He promised me global humiliation, that you see in this courtroom is an echo of the violence and the abuse of what I suffered in our relationship."

She added: "The campaigns to have me fired trying to ruin my career, the threats he's made to humiliate me globally are being lived out in real time in front of you, ladies and gentleman, for the past six weeks and for the whole world given there are cameras here."

Both Depp and Heard's lawyers have now rested their cases. The jury will begin their deliberation after closing arguments.
