KFC Forced To Reduce Menu Items In Australia Due To Chicken Shortage

The finger lickin' good empire has been affected by the pandemic and won't be able to offer some of its most iconic items.

KFC Australia has warned some stores around the country are offering a reduced menu due to a chicken shortage.

Just when you thought 2022 might be different to the previous two dumpster-fire years in the 2020s, think again.

Coronavirus cases and close contact isolations have contributed to supply chain problems and it's not clear when the situations will be fixed.

According to Perth Now, one KFC restaurant had a sign outside its doors that read: "Due to supply issues, we have no original chicken, zingers, fillets or wings. Please refer to sold-out sticker for available items."

That's one hell of a shortage considering they're some of the most iconic menu items KFC has Down Under.

KFC has admitted that they are working around the clock to make sure these items come back on the menu as quickly as possible.

In a statement on its website, the company said: "Like many businesses across Australia, our supply chain & workforce has been impacted by COVID-19."

"Rest assured we're doing all we can to get back to fryin' everyone's faves as soon as possible.

"This isn't the way we wanted to start the year, please be kind to each other, and our staff as they do their best to provide the chicken we all love."

KFC fans have flocked to social media to beg and pray they'll have their chicken again soon.

The UK's wing of KFC suffered a pretty bad chicken shortage last year due to the same problem.

Unsurprisingly, there were loads of Brits who were fuming at the inconvenience and demanded the problem be fixed.

The issue forced loads of restaurants to close because they couldn't offer enough items to warrant being open.

KFC UK was hit with another shortage in 2018 due to a supply chain issue with transport company DHL.
