An Australian teenager has been fined for speeding just hours after getting his learners driving licence.

It's a momentous occasion for anyone when you can legally get behind the wheel of a vehicle and move it through the streets.

Learners have a huge mountain to climb because they have to complete a certain amount of hours of driving to progress to their provisional licence.

However, it seems like one teen just outside of Melbourne was very excited about getting their L's.

The 17-year-old was stopped by police because he was allegedly driving his Hyundai Getz 83km an hour in a 60 zone in Woori Yallock.

It was only 1:30pm in the afternoon and Victoria Police said the teen had literally just passed his entry driving test a few hours ago when he was pulled over.

He claimed he was giving his grandmother a ride in his Getz to celebrate getting his licence.

But the celebrations came to an abrupt end when cops handed him a $363 fine. They also deducted three demerit points from his licence.

Let that be a lesson to you that you should start early with following the road rules before it becomes a habit.

Speaking about driving tests, there was a recent TikTok video that sparked a whole bunch of stories about how people had failed them.

One person wrote: "I went over a speed bump so fast that the examiner hit his head on the car roof."

Another added: "Spoke to a homeless man who asked if my test was going well at red lights. [The instructor] said that the homeless man was a hazard? TF [the f***] am I supposed to do?"

"I tried reversing on a roundabout," a third said simply.

While someone else commented: "I didn't even get to leave the test centre. She said reverse bay park and I got so nervous I crashed into a wall and fainted. Took 4 minutes."

An impatient learner said: "I wound my window down and shouted hurry up at a pedestrian in the middle of the road."

Another person who failed before they'd even had a chance to set off wrote: "I failed before I made it out of the test centre because it started raining and I didn't know how to put my wipes on so couldn't set off."

Someone else who did things their own way said: "I didn't fail but I got 14 minors. I ignored some directions because I didn't want to go in the way the test person said."
