NSW Police have aggressively removed climate protestors from blocking key CBD roads in Sydney.

Sky News Australia reports that on the second day of Blockade Australia's protests, several police officers were called to Hyde Park and began shoving protestors off the roads.

Reporter Kenny Heatley said of the demonstration: "[The protestors] attempted to cause similar disruption to what we saw yesterday but they were completely overwhelmed by police numbers in the city this morning."

He added: "Police had total dominance of the roads at all times.

Today was another demonstration of powerful, collective resistance.

"Whenever protestors tried to go on the roads, they were pushed back onto the footpaths straight away."

Around 8am this morning (Tuesday, June 28), protestors marched on the busy city streets as they headed to St Mary’s Cathedral while holding signs.

But as they began to occupy main roads, they were immediately pushed onto the footpath, with police ripping their signs out of their hands, according to ABC News.

9 News reports the protestors began throwing debris while running away as police officers approached them.

Police use their brutal weapons on non-violent climate activists and pepper spray this young person for standing up to this system intent on destruction.

Blockade Australia's chaos kicked off yesterday (Monday, June 28).

Many marched through the CBD with large banners and one woman blocked her car on the Sydney Harbour Tunnel at peak hour causing a massive traffic jam.

Commander of Strike Force Guard, Acting Assistant Commissioner Paul Dunstan, warned demonstrators that officers would be on high alert, according to Brisbane Times.

"It is unacceptable that a small number of people - who have little to no regard for everyday individuals going about their lives, are causing unnecessary disruptions to their morning commute," he said.

"What these individuals are doing is both illegal and unsafe, putting the lives of themselves, the general public and our officers in danger by running on roadway and blocking roads by other means to disrupt traffic."

Eleven protestors were arrested yesterday, including the woman who chained her neck with a bike lock onto the steering wheel of her vehicle that was blocking oncoming traffic right outside the northern entrance of the Harbour Tunnel.

Despite it only being the second day, activists from Blockade Australia have warned of a ‘week of resistance’ to protest against Australia’s climate inaction and ‘destruction’ of the environment.
