A rescue kitten has been given a forever home after going viral on social media for having what looks like four ears.

Midas is possibly a Russian blue mix and many people couldn't believe their eyes when they saw the cat sporting an additional set of ears inside its proper ears.

The deformation is reportedly linked to a recessive gene mutation from her parents.

The smaller ears don't actually help the cat hear any better and her hearing is perfectly fine with the adorable and additional ears.

Despite her deformity, the four-month-old cat was adopted by a woman in Turkey, who is hoping her efforts will encourage other people to take in pets that might not be 100 per cent normal.

The cat's owner already has a dog and another cat and she's hoping Midas will fit in nicely with everyone.

But just before you thought having four ears was unique enough, Midas the cat also has a beautiful heart-shaped white patch on her belly.

There are cats all over the world who sport interesting, strange and incredible genetic differences.

Joseph, a two-year-old Scottish Fold cat, won fans all over social media for having one eye blue and one eye yellow.

He was adopted by owner Evgenii Petrov back in 2019, who had 'almost lost hope' that he would be able to find a kitten he had a connection with.

But then found the animal that would change everything.

Petrov, who lives in Saint Petersburg in Russia, said when he first saw a photo of Joseph on the internet, he 'didn't believe' the cat was real, as the eyes were two completely different colours.

Petrov said: "It definitely was love at first sight. When I saw his photo I didn't believe he was real and I also didn't believe he hadn't been sold for five months.

"I called and I was happy when I heard that the photo was real, and a day later Joseph was at home."

Petrov said that Joseph's eye condition, which is called heterochromia, thankfully doesn't cause the feline any health complications.

He continued: "Heterochromia is a rare condition especially in Scottish Fold cats.

"The cat still has sharp sight though, he just looks different."
