Ukrainian Company Encourages Citizens To Tear Up Street Signs To Confuse Russian Tanks

Ukrainian locals have taken to the streets to remove street signs to confuse Russian troops amid their invasion.

Ukraine's road system made the call to action and urged travel organisations, local governments and communities to tear down street signs to block enemy tanks on their way to Kyiv.

State Road Agency of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) wrote in a Facebook post, "The enemy has a miserable connection; they do not navigate the terrain. Let's help them go straight to hell."

Priority #1 - signs with names of settlements. We will pass the collected signs to local authorities and road workers."

The post shows an image of a fake road sign telling Russians troops to 'Go f**k yourself', 'Go f**k yourself again' and 'Go f**k yourself back in Russian'.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence made a similar request on Twitter, calling for locals to remove signs with numbers and names of streets in their regions.

"In order to confuse and disorient the enemy who is illegally moving to Ukraine, we call: - to remove plaques with numbers and names of streets/cities/villages in their regions," they said.

"We will do everything possible to clear Ukraine of the Russian occupier as soon as possible!"

Many videos on social media show tanks stranded on the side of the road, with many soldiers lost, out of fuel and food. One video shows onlookers offering to, 'tug them back to Russia'.

As well as the dismantlement of street and road signs, the plan has even extended to blowing up bridges to stop the advancement of Russian troops in Ukrainian cities.

Independent Reporting Journalist Oliver Carroll wrote on Twitter, "Ukraine has blown up bridge to the west of city to stop advance of Russian columns."

But Carroll noted that 'leaving for relative safety in West has become a much more difficult proposition'.

This comes right as the Ministry Defence tweeted an update of Russia's progression into Ukraine, stating "Russian forces have continued their advance on Kyiv with the bulk of their forces now 30km from the centre of the city.

"Russia has yet to gain control of the airspace over Ukraine, greatly reducing the effectiveness of the Russian Air Force.

"Russian casualties are likely to be heavy and greater than anticipated or acknowledged by the Kremlin."

Even though the invasion is progressing, we can't help but think these Home Alone like tactics employed by Ukraine locals are nothing short of genius.
