Woman Has Made More Than $25,000 Selling Her Farts

A woman has opened up about her bizarre side hustle that has brought in tens of thousands of dollars.

While most of us fart many times a day, we usually just try and hold out until the room stops smelling and get back to our business.

But Lush Botanist realised there was money to be made in her flatulence.

The 'pro-farter' explained on a Channel 4 documentary that she was contacted by someone on the internet asking for her to let rip on camera.

It ended up being one of her most popular videos - and then a different person offered her money.

"I have been doing this business for three years," she said. "I kept getting requests over and over.

"I thought, 'You know what? People will pay me for this and I'm going to do it.'"

A fart isn't something that most people can conjure up on a whim - however, Lush is lactose intolerant, which means her stomach has mini-meltdowns when she eats anything that contains dairy.

In order to get her stomach brewing some rogue farts, Ms Botanist said she likes to eat a variety of cheeses.

She said parmesan makes her flatulence really 'sulphury', whereas mozzarella creates 'those big bubbly farts'.

The self-described 'fart queen of the internet' revealed she can charge up to $175 (£130) per passing of wind and the most amount of money she's made in a single day was close to $4,000 (£2,900).

All up, she reckons she's made around $25,000 (£18,200) from her fart videos.

However, it's not just videos of her breaking wind that bring in the dough. Lush has farted in jars and sent them out to her customers, and she has even sold 'fart lollipops'.

What's a fart lollipop, you may ask? Essentially, she will fart on a lollipop - a flavour of the customer's choosing - then send it to them so they can suck on it. Not sure how advisable that is from a health perspective, but I guess it's not up to me to tell people how to live.

Lush uses Instagram, Twitter and Reddit to post her fart videos throughout the week in the hope of attracting more customers.

She said the strangest request she's ever received was to fart on a miniature figurine from a model train set.

Ultimately, she credits her success to actually enjoying the farting process because she feels her customers get a kick out of her having fun.

This is a lot like modern art - many people will say, 'Yeah, I could have done that.' You didn't though, did you?
