Man has penis chopped off after doctor's medical mistake ends in amputation disaster

He was misdiagnosed with a tumour before he had his meat and two veg amputated.

A surgeon in Italy will be investigated by the country's top health officials after he erroneously removed a man's penis.

The urologist removed the man's family jewels after he wrongly diagnosed him with a cancerous tumour.

The 30-year-old surgeon has since been accused of causing serious injury to the unnamed patient from Valtiberina, which is in Italy's Tuscany region, Go News reports.

The unnamed patient had his penis surgically removed at Arezzo's San Donato Hospital on November 13, 2018.

The ill-fated procedure occurred after the urologist incorrectly diagnosed the patient, understood to be a man aged in his late 60s, one month before the amputation occurred.

Despite the misdiagnosis, the amputation went down without a hitch, so at least they got that bit right.

Probably not the bit you want to muck up, though.

Doctors made the sickening discovery during a post-op analysis of the man's now-mutilated member.

In a gut-wrenching moment, doctors found there was no tumour at all and had removed the man's perfectly healthy penis for no reason at all.

The mortified patient is now seeking compensation in the wake of the massive medical stuff-up.

As per ABC, the doctor responsible for the disastrous misdiagnosis will now have to front court to face down a judge and the man who had his tallywacker removed due to his incredible error.

Lawyers for the injured man, understood to be aged 69, claim that the stuff-up was caused by mistakes that occured during preliminary testing stages which led to the mistaken tumour diagnosis.

But, by the time medical experts identified the testing error, it was already too late.

The case will be seen in court on March 9 in Arezzo for a preliminary hearing, the Daily Mail reports.

In a sort-of similar case in the US, police in Mobile, Alabama had the opposite issue recently when someone discovered a human penis at a petrol station.

It was particularly concerning as the decapitated doodle was not attached to a human or a body.

Police believe the mystery member may have been linked to a deadly crash nearby, in which a motorcyclist came off his bike before he was 'struck by multiple vehicles' on January 30.

Mobile Police Department told Fox News that the odd discovery was not linked to a murder, assault, or any sort of grievous bodily harm charge.

According to the Daily Record, CCTV footage from the scene showed a truck arriving at the petrol station and the penis falling to the ground.

Shortly after a petrol station worker discovered the bodiless penis in the parking lot.

Confirming the incident, they said: "It was a whole d**k."
