If you are a fan of cars, consider this your warning.

Pictured below is a rare £2.5 million Ferrari Enzo which tragically crashed into a tree on Tuesday (18 January).

The accident occurred in the town of Baarn, just southeast of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Local reports suggest the unlucky guy behind the crash was a dealership mechanic, who we suspect will probably never live this one done.

Fortunately, he escaped unhurt, but was taken to the hospital for a check-up.

An eyewitness to the aftermath said: “The local Ferrari dealer is about two kilometres away from the scene. It's a customer-owned car.

“The Weather conditions were damp and chilly, maybe three degrees in temperature.

“It hit a tree stump at the side of the road. It hit it on the passenger side and the stump was damaged.

“Not sure what happened, but I think he wanted to turn right back to the dealership.”

Car lovers will be mourning the loss of this one for a long time, as just 400 Enzos left the Ferrari production line between 2002 and 2004.

Despite costing £450,000 at launch, Enzos have massively increased in value.

A 2003 Ferrari Enzo was sold in August 2021 by RM Sotheby's for an eye-watering $3,360,000 (£2,463,132).

Earlier this month, Richard Hammond was brave enough to get back behind the wheel of the car that nearly killed him 16 years ago.

Hammond was injured in a Vampire dragster while filming a segment for Top Gear back in September 2006.

He had been travelling in the jet-powered car, which can reach speeds of up to 370mph, at Elvington Airfield near York when one of the front tyres failed, causing the presenter to lose control.

The frightening incident resulted in Hammond suffering a significant brain injury and being in a coma for two weeks.

Thankfully, the beloved presenter made a full recovery.

Now he’s been reunited with the model for DriveTribe, the digital community set up by Hammond and his former Top Gear colleagues Jeremy Clarkson and James May.

The site shared a YouTube video of the event, saying in the description: “Richard Hammond has been entertaining us on our screens for over 20 years now, but one car nearly changed things forever – the Vampire jet car. In this video, Hammond sets out DriveTribe's plans for 2022, before attempting to get comfortable again with the 300mph+ land speed car.”
