Mourner caught 'snubbing' Meghan Markle as she greets people following Queen's death

A person who turned up at the gates of Windsor Castle to mourn the passing of Queen Elizabeth II was captured appearing to snub Meghan Markle, avoiding her gaze when she was trying to shake hands with the public. You can see the moment in the video below.

Meghan and Harry left behind their royal duties a while back, but with the death of Harry’s grandmother they’ve returned briefly to the fold and joined Prince William and his wife Kate outside Windsor Castle to meet the public who had turned out to show their sympathies.

However, it seems that for whatever reason some people are unwilling to accept Meghan in any situation.

Well, she’s actually given a few interviews in which she’s revealed exactly what she reckons some of the reasons are behind it, but that’s another story for another day.

Anyway, as the Duchess of Sussex wandered around shaking hands with people, she arrived at one who dropped her head appearing to ignore her, before then raising her head and sharing a knowing look and a laugh and shake of the head with the person next to her.

There were others too.

Others could be seen withdrawing their hands from Meghan, or even putting sunglasses on to avoid making eye contact with her.

It’s really hard to see why Meghan and Harry might have decided that a life in the USA away from all of this would be appealing, isn’t it?

Obviously, this sort of behaviour has gone down well with the monarchists of the internet.

One viral tweet said: “Lady in the blue having none of it,”

A response said: “This is so brilliantly British. I want to give a big hug to those ladies who were no eye contact, no warmth towards her, nothing. Blank and move on!!! Well done”.

 “Who is this woman? I wanna buy her a pint,” anther wrote.

However, not everyone was so impressed.

“It is funny, the same people who complain about people disrespecting the Queen, are loving the disrespect shown here,” someone else commented.

“People refusing to shake her hand are so pathetic,” said another.

Like it or not – or even for those who couldn’t care less – Meghan and Harry are likely to be front and centre for a while longer yet, as the preparations for the Queen’s funeral on September 19 continue, and the countdown to King Charles III eventual coronation begins.
