She also told an anecdote that saw someone compare her to Nelson Mandela.

Meghan Markle has launched yet another blistering attack on the royal family, accusing them of giving other royals whatever 'arrangement they wanted' but refusing to allow her to do as she pleased.

In a scalding interview with New York Magazine's The Cut, the former Suits actor explained that she and Prince Harry were 'happy' to leave Britain because they were 'upsetting the dynamic of the hierarchy… just by existing' in the lead up to Megxit.

The former actor told the New York based magazine that she wanted to be financially independent and work for money despite being a royal, adding that it wasn't 'reinventing the wheel'.

She then complained that a handful of other princes, princesses, and dukes are allowed to do exactly that, but not her.

"That, for whatever reason, is not something that we were allowed to do, even though several other members of the family do that exact thing," Markle said, according to The Cut.

When asked by journalist Allison P. Davis to elaborate, Markle turned the question back on her interviewer.

Davis described Markle as giving her 'side-eye that [suggested] I should understand without having to be told'.

Markle said she grew so sick of upsetting the apple cart for just existing that the Sussex couple decided they had to go.

"So we go, 'Okay, fine, let's get out of here. Happy to.'" she said, raising her hands in defeat, as per The Cut.

Markle claimed she is 'still healing' after dealing with the British Royal Family.

"I think forgiveness is really important. It takes a lot more energy to not forgive. But it takes a lot of effort to forgive. I've really made an active effort, especially knowing that I can say anything," the former Suits actor added.

She then went on to tell an anecdote about a cast member of The Lion King and how he compared her to South Africa's apartheid-ending hero Nelson Mandela.

"He looked at me, and he's just like light," Markle said, describing The Lion King actor.

"He said, 'I just need you to know: When you married into this family, we rejoiced in the streets the same we did when Mandela was freed from prison'."

Despite talking about her turmoil within the British Royal Family at length, Markle remained tight-lipped when probed.

She claimed to The Cut that she 'never had to sign anything that restricts [her] from talking'.

Markle added: "I can talk about my whole experience and make a choice not to."
