A rare recorded phone call which was leaked online sees Michael Jackson claiming his dad would 'strip him naked' and 'oil him down'.

You can watch a segment of the recording below:

The 'King of Pop' died in 2009 of acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication at his home in Los Angeles, California.

He had previously been at the centre of child sexual abuse allegations, and in 2005 he was tried and acquitted of child molestation.

Since his death, further allegations have been brought to light, with Wade Robson and James Safechuck providing graphic accounts of the alleged abuse they suffered in the 2019 documentary Leaving Neverland.

Prior to this, the singer claimed that his father Joe Jackson had emotionally and physically abused him as a child.

In a rare recording that was posted on Reddit this week, Jackson opened up about the abuse for a book titled The Michael Jackson Tapes.

Per the synopsis: "In 2000-2001, Michael Jackson sat down with his close friend and spiritual guide, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, to record what turned out to be the most intimate and revealing conversations of his life."

In the audio file, the singer claimed his dad would sometimes make him strip nude, adding: "It'd be a whole ritual.

"He would oil you down so when the foot of the ironing cord hit you... it was just like me dying. He would just whip you all over your face, your back, everywhere.

"And I would just hear our mother in the back [saying], 'No Joe, you're going to kill them, no.'

"I would just give up. I would go, 'There's nothing I can do.' You know? And I hated him for it."

In another segment, the pop star spoke about how his father would use strict discipline when it came to managing The Jackson 5, consisting of Michael, as well as his brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon.

"You'd go, 'Oh, I can't mess up, he's [Joe] going to kill us,'" explained Jackson. "It would just scare the bejesus out of you.

"Everybody's clapping and he'd be looking at you hard, like, 'Don't you mess up.' And I'm like, 'Oh God, I'm in trouble after the show.'"

The 'Billie Jean' singer went on to allege that he and his sister Janet would 'play games' in which they discussed how they'd feel if their father died.

Michael claimed that he and his sibling Janet Jackson were scared of their father.

"I'd say, 'Picture Joseph in a coffin, he's dead. Do you feel sorry?' And she would go, 'No,'" he explained.

"That's how angry we were with him. And I love him today, but he was hard."

Jackson admitted that he was still scared of his father, stating that he'd previously 'fainted' and 'thrown up' when he came into the room.

"This aura comes and my stomach starts hurting," he said. "I know I'm in trouble."
