MrBeast lives in modest £250,000 home and bought rest of street for friends and family

He has forked out big for five houses on the same cul-de-sac so his nearest and dearest can always be close to home.

MrBeast is making a difference yet again, but this time it is rather close to home.

The YouTuber, who is best known for his outlandish video content, throwing money about in typically bizarre yet enthralling games, has recently gone down a more philanthropic route.

For example, Jimmy Donaldson won the heart's of the public by curing 1,000 people's blindness. He also paid up to give shoes to 20,000 kids in South Africa who had never had a pair for their own two feet.

And now he's keeping the people who matter close after purchasing five homes on the same-cul-de-sac in North Carolina for his employees and family members to reside in, according to The New York Post.

And, considering he accumulated a whopping $54 million worth of net worth in 2021 alone, suffice to say he's in a position to give back to his friends, family, and colleagues.

He then slowly began to chip away at the rest of the street, purchasing the five properties off-market and paying over the asking price for each home.

Sort of like in Monopoly, except with real houses.

The remaining homes were not up for sale and were purchased off-market.

The combined total of three of those properties came in at a cool USD$1.45 million (AUD$2.13 million, £1.14 million).

There is just one house left to buy, but the former owner of one of the homes, Aaron Bowden, explained to The New York Post that it is likely due to the family wanting their kids to finish school nearby first.

"My understanding is the folks who are holding out are similar to any reason why anyone would have held out — it's the best school district in the area, and they have kids in school," Bowden said.

He added: "I wouldn’t know anything for a fact because I don’t walk in their shoes, but they may change their minds when their kids are out of high school and off to college."

He also said another reason may be down to other neighbours being reluctant to move from the charming locale.

"Some people have been there for a while. My immediately adjacent neighbour, they actually grew up in the neighbourhood and her parents moved to the beach. They only moved up the street," he said.

"They just moved into a different house."

Bowden confirmed to The New York Post that Donaldson had informed him of his plans to move his family and staffers into the homes.

Now isn't that just lovely? Talk about the best boss ever.

MrBeast was approached for comment.
