Halsey Announces She Is Taking An Extended Break From Touring

Halsey has announced she is to take an extended break from touring.

The singer, real name Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, confirmed the news during her recent concert in Dublin, telling the crowd that she needed to do 'a little growing up'.

Speaking during her set, the 25-year-old said: "The cool thing about it is that you guys have watched me grow up too. You guys have watched me date a lot of people... yep, so many, like, a lot.

"You've watched me break up with a lot of people. You guys have watched me say the wrong thing at the wrong time, make friends with the wrong people. Make a lot of mistakes."

"But something's started happening where you guys have started to grow up faster than I was.

"And I'm supposed to be the one who writes the songs that help you, and stops you from making mistakes. But how can I do that if you're growing up faster than me?

"So, that's why I'm taking this break. So that I can go away and I can do a little bit of growing up and come back and write you the best f**king album you've ever heard."

The 'You Should Be Sad' singer has previously alluded to the fact that she planned to take a break from music.

In a post to her Instagram account earlier this month, she wrote: "I think 2020 will mark the end of me touring for a very long time. Thank you for making the memories so special. I am cherishing every single night."

Of course, Halsey is far from the first musician to announce they will be taking a bit of a breather from travelling the world.

Last year, Ed Sheeran told fans he would be taking a step back from music.

The singer made the shock announcement on his Instagram account, telling fans that he wants to take some time away so that he can 'live a little'.

Captioning the photo of his statement with "Brb", he said: "Hello all. Gonna go on another break again.

"The Divide era and tour changed my life in so many ways, but now it's all over it's time to go out and see some more of the world."
