Mexican police have seized a gold-plated AR-15 assault rifle, covered in what appears to be diamonds, from a gang known as Las Bigotonas - 'The Women With Moustaches'.

Not much is known about the killer cartel, which according to cops is a criminal gang located in the city of Tehuacan, in the central Mexican state of Puebla.

In the latest seizure, cops targeted the Las Bigotonas gang and arrested Victor Ivan N, alias El Yori, who is the alleged boss of the gang.

They were found with meth.

Arresting officers also allegedly found 38 doses of crystal meth during the arrest, along with the gold and fake diamond plated AR-15 - a lightweight semi-automatic rifle.

Officers also found 20 cartridges for the weapon during the arrest. Cops say the suspect is responsible for organising robbery, drug smuggling, weapons trafficking and is also linked in with several homicide cases.

Internet users were quick to comment, with one saying: "OMG, it looks like a weapon from Call of Duty."

Another added: "This weapon should be auctioned, and please let me know the date, cool weapon."

It is unclear if the suspect has been charged yet.

Female criminals are a growing phenomenon in Mexico. Earlier this year, cops shot and killed the young leader of a notorious Mexican cartel.

Maria Guadalupe Lopez Esquivel was suspected of being one of the leading figures of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

The unassuming 21-year-old was allegedly the head of an infamous Mexican cartel and in videos taken just after the gun fight, she can be seen struggling for breath after receiving a bullet wound to the neck.

Nicknamed 'La Catrina', Maria Guadalupe Lopez Esquivel was suspected of being one of the leaders of the country's Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

She was often seen on social media, flashing her lavish lifestyle and posing with guns.

Since leading a team of hit men to carry out an ambush on police in Michoacan State on 14 October, she had been hiding in a safe house with other cartel members, when the authorities received a tip-off.

National Guard police took on the gang before the fight broke out, leaving Esquivel with a neck wound. Body-cam footage shows her sitting on the floor with blood all over her face and clothes.

She can be seen struggling for breath, with one of the policemen telling her to stay calm and wait for a helicopter to take her to hospital.

The officer can be heard saying: "Calm down, kid. The helicopter is coming for you. It is coming now, easy, easy, you are going to be okay. Try to hang on." However, she died after the helicopter took off.
