Strong wind and heavy rainfall from Storm Ciara is currently battering the country, leading the Met Office to issue a 'danger to life' Amber weather warning.
The Amber warning covers the English and Welsh coastline from the south of the UK up to the Lake District and states the possibility of 'injuries and danger to life from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties'.
The Met Office website urges people across the UK to stay indoors if possible to avoid risks such as being hit by flying debris. You can also expect train, plane and ferry cancellations, road and bridge closures, power cuts and large waves on coastal areas.
Met Office chief meteorologist Frank Saunders told the Mirror: "Storm Ciara will bring damaging winds and heavy rain across the UK this weekend and we have issued a range of severe weather warnings giving people time to prepare for potential impacts of the storm.

"Winds will increase through Saturday across Northern Ireland, Scotland, northern England and Wales, before turning very windy across the rest of UK through the early hours of Sunday morning."
As it stands, the Met Office told LADbible that gusts of 60 to 70mph are expected widely across inland areas, with even stronger gusts of 80mph to 90mph along coastal areas.
Wind speeds of 86mph have already been recorded in Capel Curig in North West Wales.
It's no surprise this weekend marks a bad one to be flying, as many airlines have cancelled both domestic and international flights due to the extreme weather.

Same goes for train travel, the National Rail halting numerous trips as Storm Ciara sweeps in from the Atlantic.
As noted on the Network Rail site: "Network Rail and train operators are advising passengers to check their journeys this weekend, with Storm Ciara expected to bring winds of up to 80mph across Britain.
"High winds have the potential to damage overhead lines and tracks, for example through debris or lineside trees falling on to the railway.

"To keep passengers safe, reduced services and speed restrictions are likely to be in place across large parts of the rail network on Sunday."
Those who live on the coast are most likely to be affected, although in general it's probably better to be safe than sorry and chill at home if you can.
Hopefully you stockpiled ingredients for a Sunday roast before Storm Ciara started doing her thing.
