A protester at an Insulate Britain demonstration in London decided to take things to the next level by opting to glue his head onto the road.

The group, formed by Extinction Rebellion members, is calling for the Government to insulate all homes in the UK by 2030 to cut carbon emissions.

While some of the group were seen to stick their hands to the ground, this bloke felt so strongly about the cause that he decided to glue his head to the floor.

Police managed to eventually remove him off the road and was carried to a van by two officers in Camomile Street and Bishopsgate on Monday (25 Oct).

Members of the public were seen to shouting at the protestors from the side of the road.

However, the protestors remained unaffected by insults and looked straight down the road.

The Met said 52 people were arrested at protest sites in Bishopsgate, Upper Thames Street, Limehouse Street and Southwark Bridge.

Other demonstrators who superglued their hands to the ground were also released by officers before being arrested and led to police vehicles.

Leaflets handed out to members of the public by protesters apologised for the disruption.

The flyers said Insulate Britain is asking the UK Government to invest in homes across the country to make them free of fossil fuels.

The message read: "Dear driver, we are peaceful and non-violent.

"We are sorry to delay your journey. For your safety please stay in your vehicle and do not drive on the hard shoulder, this is for emergency vehicles.

"The police are on their way. They will arrest us and you will be able to continue your journey."

Also today, one driver can be seen blasting the group, telling them that his father cannot get to hospital.

He says: "Do you know what it's like someone trying to get treatment for cancer and you're standing like this?

"People are trying to get to hospital, of all places.

"If anyone gets cancer please let it be your family, let you know what it feels like."

The driver then pledged to stop recycling in protest against the group.

Earlier this month, a woman confronted protestors, pleading with them to let her pass so that she could get to her mum who had been rushed to hospital.

In footage shared by LBC, the desperate woman can be seen crying, telling them: "She's in the ambulance, she's going to the hospital in Canterbury, do you think I'm stupid?

"I need to go to the hospital, please let me pass. This isn't OK... How can you be so selfish?"

Trying to reason with them, she said: "We all believe in what you're doing but I just need to get to my mum... everybody agrees with you."

At one point she asked why they were there, to which one person replied: "No one is doing anything."

The woman then said: "But that's not my fault! And my mum is the one in an ambulance on the way to hospital!"

According to the radio station, the woman was later allowed through.
