A dad has really put his lockdown time to good use, turning his scruffy loft into a chic walk-in wardrobe for him and his wife.

Rodolfo Cabrera shares a home with wife Idaly, 37, and their daughter Josdallana, in Maryland, US.

And with their attic leaving a little to be desired, the 40-year-old decided to get to work and make it into something special.

Speaking about the incredible renovation, Rodolfo, a construction worker, said it took about three weeks to complete and set him back about $30,000, bringing in some help to get the job done.

And safe to say, Idaly was over the moon with the result.

How it used to look.

"My wife and I needed more space for our clothes. One day I went up to my attic and I began to think, 'wow we have all this empty space that we can transform into something else'," Rodolfo said.

Adding: "I spent an estimate of $25K to $30K on labour and material.

"My workers helped me out and they got paid for the help. For the closet, I used 2x4 for the framing and a drywall to build the walls.

"I then had the drywall plastered and got it ready for the shelves and paint.

"The shelves were made out wood planks. I used PVC laminate for the floor, which is a wood looking plank but it's made out of plastic and other materials. It's also waterproof."

Rodolfo wanted to create something special for him and his wife Idaly.

But Rodolfo isn't the only one who's been busy transforming a tired part of their home into something a little more exciting.

David Mckinder, from Sydney, Australia, has spent the best part of 10 years turning his garage into a footballing Mecca, complete with a dugout, bar, a Tottenham Hotspur-themed poker table - oh, and just the 14 TVs.

He's even got one in a coffee table and a huge projector!

Dave has also turned an uninspiring room in his house into a sporting man cave.

All in, the 46-year-old told LADbible that it cost him around AU$35,000 (£19,112) to transform the space into every football fan's dream. So it's not a cheap job, but Dave says it's worth every penny.

He said: "I was sick of watching sports by myself.

"As the times are really late and early in my part of the world, I had a dream that what if I could watch all my favourite sports at once, as well as a good game of poker with my mates while we're at it."

Adding: "We were looking for a house about 10 years ago and I spotted the house we are in now. It had a four-car garage, and with only having one car the 'mancave' was born."
