People Are Loving Sky's New Series The White Lotus

Fans are absolutely raving about Sky comedy-drama The White Lotus and it's been given some high praise among critics. Watch the trailer below:

The TV series premiered in the US on HBO on 11 July and launched in the UK on Sky Atlantic yesterday (16 August).

Written, created and directed by Mike White, it stars Jennifer Coolidge, Alexandra Daddario, Murray Bartlett and Connie Britton.

The first season consists of six episodes and focuses on the lives of guests and staff at a tropical resort in Hawaii throughout the course of a week.

However, as the days pass by the themes of the show darken and, as expected, the plot thickens.

The Guardian referred to the show as 'Big Little Lies with another two and a half turns of the screw - an equally sumptuously set miniseries with a mystery fatality at its heart'.

The series has been well received on Rotten Tomatoes, with an 87 percent critics' rating and 79 percent audience score.

Social media has been full of praise for the show.

One user wrote: "White Lotus - you have to stick with it, it's a slow burn but so worth the journey trust me."

A second said: "I've changed my mind about White Lotus it's very good and whoever wrote the music deserves a Grammy."

Whilst a third concluded: "The White Lotus, which I started without any expectations, was a very enjoyable series, I am passing on its deep messages, but I liked the character selection and rich dialogs."

HBO has confirmed there will be a season two of The White Lotus, which will feature a whole new cast of vacationers in a new locale.

UK viewers can watch The White Lotus on Sky Atlantic on Mondays at 9pm, or stream it on NOW TV.

Meanwhile, over on Netflix viewers are loving teen drama teen drama Outer Banks following the season two premiere.

The programme follows a group of down-on-their-luck teens hunting for long-lost treasure in North Carolina, US.

The American action-teen-adventure was created by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate and Shannon Burke.

Fans have taken to social media the showcase their excitement, while appearing to be a tiny bit obsessed with show.

One user wrote: "I've watched season 2, 4 times. And keep watching until the third one arrives!"

A second user added: "I ain't going to sleep till like 7am... started watching Outer Banks and could not sleep."

Whilst a third user said: "Outer Banks is some fire, Netflix has a hit."
