Super Bowl Streaker Says He Has Already Been Paid Large Portion Of £270,000 Bet Winnings
He's planning to invest up to $200,000 of his winnings in Dogecoin
Super Bowl Streaker Yuri Andrade says he has already been paid a large portion of his $375,000 (£270,000) winnings from a bet he placed on himself - despite bookie Bovada releasing a statement saying it would void wagers placed on him from those who had prior knowledge of his plan.
Andrade - who sprinted onto the playing field in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl sporting a pink mankini before being tackled by enforcement officers - says he staked $50,000 (£36,000) across multiple bookmakers on someone running onto the playing field during the game, knowing he would be making a bid to get onto the pitch himself.
Now he's reaping the rewards, telling LADbible he's already received a large sum of his winnings, despite Bovada withholding $75,000 (£54,000) and saying it would investigate all streaking bets and void any from bettors shown to have prior knowledge of Andrade's plans.
Andrade, 31, from Boca Raton, Florida, said: "I've been paid a large portion of it. Bovada actually came out and released a statement and said that they were going to cancel the bets.
"I got a call from a lawyer today and he said he wants to file a federal lawsuit against Bovada. They owe me $75,000."
As to what he plans to do with the cash, Andrade said he wants to invest between $100,000 and $200,000 (£72,000-£145,000) in Dogecoin cryptocurrency, citing Elon Musk as an inspiration.
Aside from winning vast amounts of cash, Andrade has gone on to receive shout-outs from Dwayne Johnson and Tampa Bay Buccaneers player Rob Gronkowski following his Super Bowl antics.
The effort also landed him a night in jail, and he was ordered to pay $500 (£360) bail after facing a misdemeanor charge of trespass on property other than a structure or conveyance. No court date has been set.
Explaining how he came to run onto the field, Andrade said he went to school with Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, famous for employing his then-girlfriend Kinsey Wolanski to streak at 2019 Champions League finals.
Zdorovetskiy had been planning to get a streaker onto the field at the Super Bowl for several years, and he and Andrade orchestrated this year's successful attempt together, promoting Zdorovetskiy's adult website Vitaly Uncensored.
Andrade said: "I was always a prankster at school. I pranked Vitaly a couple of times pretty good. This was my first streaking for sure, but definitely not my last.
"We've got a couple of things lined up, I can't say, we wouldn't want them to be on top of us."
A Bovada spokesperson said in a statement on Twitter: "We identified some betting irregularities on our Super Bowl prop 'Will A Fan Run Onto The Field During The Game?'
"Our players have always trusted us to ensure the integrity of all props offered in our sportsbook.
"We will continue to make sure that any publicity stunts or ill-intended behaviour cannot adversely affect the outcome of a player's wager.
"All of our player's are on a level playing field, so if you bet 'no' on this market we're going to refund your bet.
"Additionally, we're honouring all those 'yes' wagers we've determined to have had no part in the betting irregularities.
"We'll be reaching out to all those players impacted by this event shortly."
