Four People Wounded In Paris Knife Attack Close To Charlie Hebdo Offices

Four people have been wounded in an attack in Paris, with one seriously injured, according to the police.

According to the Associated Press, police say that a suspect has now been arrested .

Taking to Twitter, a local reporter wrote: "Very large police force deployed in the 11th district. Knife attack not far from the premises of Charlie Hebdo."

Associated Press reporters at the scene saw police flooding into the neighbourhood in eastern Paris, near the Richard Lenoir subway station.

A police official said officers are 'actively hunting' for the perpetrators and have cordoned off the area, which is where the former Charlie Hebdo offices are situated, after a suspect package was noticed nearby.

Journalit Lucas Burel also wrote: "Assault with knives in the Richard Lenoir sector (source PP): - 4 victims including 2 in absolute urgency - 2 fugitives wanted by the police - The BRI is mobilized. - Enlarged perimeter established around the former Charlie Hebdo premises for a suspicious packages."
