Woman Can't Stop Laughing At Goals She Set For 2020 Back In January

Comedian Robyn Schall's aims for 2020 are all too relatable, and sadly completely unachieved.

It's fair to guess that hardly anyone has managed to achieve their 2020 goals after a year that's been unlike any other due to the coronavirus pandemic. Like many of you, we've not dared take a look at what we hoped and predicted for ourselves back in January, but one brave woman has done just that - and it's left her in stitches.

Comedian Robyn Schall took the plunge and revisited her New Year's resolutions for a social media video, and it wasn't long before she was cracking up at the idea that any of her goals would've been remotely possible this year.

The video, which has now been viewed more than three million times on the video app, sees poor Robyn start: "Tell me this is not hilarious."

Captioned - quite aptly - 'My 2020 goal is trolling me', the video then reels through the list of her now-failed aims for this year.

Having poured herself a large glass of wine white, Robyn laughs and says she's hit rock bottom, beginning: "Goal one - make more money. Umm, well, I've been on unemployment since March."

That's enough to get the giggles to step up a level, but there's plenty more to come. She continues: "Travel more...lose weight. Be more social," before laughing again at the thought of trying to socialise throughout 2020.

She adds: "Cry less...cry less? I've cried every single day of this whole pandemic."

What finishes her off though is a moment of spectacularly bleak humour, which she struggles to get through: "Spend more time with my grandma... and, well, she died."

Robyn then creases up completely before stopping the video and, we presume, going back to her wine.

Reflecting on the video, she later told Buzzfeed: "The universe was like, 'No, we're not gonna give you travel or success. Oh, you want some time with your grandma? We're gonna knock out all old people!'"

She added that upon re-reading the list, she realised it was 'comically heartbreaking', and summed up the dark irony of lockdown by saying: "My grandma died - but everyone on the entire planet, whether they're dead or alive, has been taken away from you!"

Over 700,000 thousand people have liked the video on TikTok alone - and let's face it who can't relate to it? - with the supportive and witty comments flooding in from fellow social media users.

Even actor Jennifer Garner replied, calling it '2020 in a nutshell' and adding: "I'm sorry about your Grandma."

However, this at least gave Robyn the opportunity to imagine how her late grandparent might have reacted to Garner's condolences.

She said to Buzzfeed: "If my grandma knew that Jennifer Garner gave her condolences...! What?!?"

And on top of that, she's pleased the video has given people a much-needed laugh in stressful times. She said: "The outpouring of people, just regular people who are just in my DMs and the comments opening up and feeling so much better and laughing. Everyone missed laughing. I'm so happy.

"That's the best part - that millions of people are just laughing a bit more."
