A couple have been detained after they were allegedly caught engaging in a sex act in the economy cabin of a domestic flight in Russia:

The man, 41, and the woman, 43, were held by police upon landing in Vladivostok and were accused of having oral sex in plain sight of other passengers during the eight-and-a-half hour flight from Moscow.

They were found to be intoxicated upon arrival, having only met before boarding the flight, according to newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda.

The pair face up to 15 days 'administrative arrest' and a fine, according to the Russian Interior Ministry. Police did not reveal the names of the duo but the man was said to be from Vladivostok and the woman from Nakhodka.

In a video taken from on board the flight, a flight attendant for state-owned Rossiya Airlines can be heard saying to the couple (in Russian): "Come on, now, calm down and settle down quickly. The plane will land and you will get out of here.

"Get your penis in your pants. Right now. Get your hand off his penis. Right now."

Flight attendants attempted to break up the penis grabbing.

In another video, the man is told by a fight attendant: "You know, the captain has been informed that you performed oral sex in a public place.

"There is video footage, and we will be forced to report you to police. You were performing unacceptable actions in a public place.

"You showed your penis to her and she touched it with her hands... all this has been filmed."

While a bit of public penis grabbing is hardly what you need when cramped up in the economy cabin, it is certainly preferable to someone just going right ahead and opening an emergency door because they think it's 'too stuffy'... Yes, this did happen.

More specifically, it happened on a Xiamen Airlines Flight 8215 on Monday 23 September at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, China. Fortunately for everyone involved, the door was opened prior to take off.

Don't open bits of planes people.

Flight attendants had reportedly warned the female passenger and others near her not to touch the lever of the emergency door after she was shown to her seat, but she ignored them, citing the fact it was 'too stuffy'.

The flight was still delayed by more than an hour though while airport police came and arrested the woman - and, presumably, while one of the crew closed the door.
