Any Tinder user will tell you that using the app is not as simple as swiping right a couple of times and finding the partner of your dreams. There's all sorts lurking out there and you can't be sure what you're going to end up with.

That said, most people probably assume downloading the app won't ultimately end up in them becoming a porn star.

But it turns out the dating app isn't just trawled by randy loners in their attics, it's also scouted out by porn agents - as a former student in the US found out.

Emily - better known now as Gianna Dior - was studying psychology and working two part-time jobs when she got Tinder in the hope of finding herself a date or two.

However, she soon matched a guy who didn't want to know if she fancied going out for a panini; rather, he wanted to know if she would be up for doing porn.

The 21-year-old originally declined, however, her interest grew and she ended up giving it a bash. A year on, and she has ditched her former life and is working as a porn star full time, making around £750 per hour and amassing 390,000 followers on Instagram along the way.

Emily shared her story on Channel 4's three-part documentary, Generation Porn.

Emily now makes around £750 an hour.

Recounting how it all began, she said: "I was going to school in Alabama, majoring in psychology and working two jobs - a receptionist at an eye doctor and a waiter at a sushi restaurant.

"I was on Tinder looking to go on dates, nothing crazy and then an agent from Miami found me on it and asked if I had ever considered doing porn. I told him no."

But while Emily said she loved her new line of work and the life it has given her, she admitted that it had come at the cost of her family, who have not supported her move to porn; her father in particular has begged her to quit and return to her studies.

Emily said: "I don't care what anyone else thinks, my happiness is all that matters."
