| Last updated
TikTok user Lala (@lalaleluu) posted a video of herself trying out the simple but effective method.
Showing her followers what to do, she explained: "You're not supposed to move your eyes back, but to the side - if that makes sense?
"So you pull up and down and then you look to the side, and then you blink.
"So you look here and then you blink. And that should get it out."
After successfully removing her contact lens, she exclaimed: "That worked so well!"
Trying the other eye, she continued: "So you pull and pull and look to the side and blink. Ta-dah!
"That was the easiest way to ever take out contacts. I'm so proud of myself!
"I still struggle with putting them in, but I'm a master at taking them out now!"
Since she shared her TikTok video, it's racked up 2.1 million likes - and prompted many others to try out the method for themselves.
Another user called Mahea Ramos (@mahearama) then stitched the original clip to one of her own, captioning her video: "The way I struggled with taking out contacts all these years."
Trying the trick out for herself, Mahea manages to successfully remove her contact lens in one swift movement, mouthing to the camera: "What the f***?"
Her video has amassed a whopping 17.8 million views and 2.8 million likes, with more than 40,000 comments from fellow social media users.
May people tagged friends to share the tip-off, while others vowed to give it a go.
