YouTuber Adam22 has been attacked by an armed intruder while he was live streaming in his LA store.

The live video shows Adam about to eat some takeout food and then a man breaks in and points a gun directly at his head.

Reports claim that the shooter was robbing the store, before being supposedly knocked out by bouncers who guard it.

Adam22, real name Adam John Grandmaison, is a YouTube personality, and the founder and presenter of hip hop-oriented YouTube channel, No Jumper. The channel currently has more than 2.6million subscribers and focuses on interviews with underground artists and tastemakers.

Adam22 originally rose to fame as a BMXer, starting a clothing line alongside his other outlets.

It isn't the first time we've seen physical attacks on influencers. Last year, YouTuber KSI was attacked outside a fast food restaurant, saying he only managed to fight him off thanks to self-defence lessons.

Logan Paul also had an encounter with a stalker, who broke into his house. Paul ended up needing a restraining order against the obsessed fan.

It's opened up a wider conversation about the safety of YouTubers and online influencers. With huge followings and fame, but none of the security that comes with more traditional celebrities, many are speaking about the fact that they are just as vulnerable to stalkers.

Adam22 took it all in his stride, though, saying he'd be back in business once the police had left.

Just minutes before the intruder attacked him, Adam had been discussing fellow YouTuber Shane Dawson's less than pleasant comments he made about his cat.

The controversial influencer made a 'joke' back in 2015, in which he made some graphic and frankly pretty gross sexual comments about his pet cat. When the episode of the podcast that he made the joke on resurfaced this weekend, he had to issue an apology to his 7.94m followers.

It's not the first time Dawson has had to apologise for saying something weird and downright wrong, having previously called a six-year-old girl 'sexy'.

Seemingly unfazed by his near-death experience, though, Adam still had it in him to make a joke about Dawson's latest faux pas.
