People can’t get over Iceland’s incredible ‘Big Night In’ deal, which treats shoppers to a massive feast for just a fiver – saying it’s so good that it feels like a ‘giveaway’.

Iceland is known for its affordable offers, but one of its latest is proving particularly popular with customers.

The ‘Big Night In’ deal gives you everything you need for a cosy night at home, with many people pointing out that it works out much cheaper than a takeaway.

For just £5, you can get two Goodfellas pizzas – with a choice of pepperoni or margherita – chicken dippers, potato shapes and ice cream.

According to Iceland, it saves customers up to £6.50, which will no doubt be helpful for those feeling the pinch amid the ongoing cost of living crisis.

After the supermarket chain posted about the deal on Facebook, shoppers flocked to the comments to praise the ‘great offer', with some saying they’d already been able to get involved.

One wrote: “Got this yesterday absolute bargain city, super value.”

Someone else agreed: “Brought this today. Such an amazing offer well done Iceland.”

A third wrote: “I just got this... very good offer well done Iceland.”

A fourth also said in disbelief: “That's a giveaway! We need more offers like this.”

Another customer said they’d got the deal earlier that day, adding: “Great value, half the price of a takeaway and just as nice.”

In the comments, someone also said they spotted a vegetarian alternative for the dippers, meaning non-meat eaters are catered for as well.

They said: “You can choose one of each pizzas but I took 2 pepperoni BARGAIN – in my store vegetable fingers in it too but I chose dippers.”

The deal is available both in store and on the Iceland website, where choices are listed out as Goodfella's Stonebaked Thin Crust Margherita Pizza (345g); Goodfella's Stonebaked Thin Crust Pepperoni & Cheese Pizza (332g); The Real McCoy's Salted Flavour Potato Shapes (700g); The Real McCoy's Flame Grilled Steak Flavour Potato Shapes (700g); Birds Eye 12 Chicken Dippers (220g); Birds Eye Green Cuisine Meat Free Veggie Fingers (10 Pack); Mars Chocolate Caramel Ice Cream Bar (4 x 51ml); and Snickers Chocolate Peanut Ice Cream Bar (4 x 53ml).

And for anyone concerned about the health issues associated with such a feast – amid headlines about a ban on multi-buy deals for junk food that the government is considering – Iceland's offers also include three for £5 on fruit products, with options including everything from bananas, oranges and grapes through to raspberries, strawberries and nectarines.
