Police officer mistakenly tries to stop Sky News filming during live interview

"He's never going to live that down"

If you think you're having a bad day at the office, you can at least comfort yourself with the knowledge that you're not this guy:

Yes, this is the moment a police officer mistakenly tried to stop Sky News filming during a live broadcast.

The embarrassing blunder unfolded as chief political correspondent Jon Craig carried out interviews amid the news Rishi Sunak will be the next UK Prime Minister.

Just as the interview got underway, a number of protestors ran to the middle of the lobby and sat down in protest.

Craig told the viewers: "I don't know if viewers can see but we appear to have a demo behind us but we will carry on though."

But the report was put on hold once again when a Parliament officer rocked up and placed his hand over the camera.

He soon realised his mistake when Craig brutally shut him down, saying: "We're midway through an interview, excuse me."

Looking like a scene straight out of The Office, the bobby awkwardly looks around before walking off.

Dozens of people have commented on the hilarious clip, with one writing, "He thinks he’s so important," alongside a laughing emoji.

"Not another police officer making an assumption before checking the facts," said another.

A third quipped: "That power trip quickly got shut down haha," while a fourth chimed in: "He's never going to live that down!"

The protestors seen in the footage were later confirmed to be part of Greenpeace UK, which took to Twitter to share a clip of the demonstration.

Alongside the footage, it wrote: "Government chaos and failure has pushed almost a quarter of the country into fuel poverty.

"TODAY activists occupied parliament and brought the new Prime Minister Rishi Sunak a message: Government #ChaosCostsLives".
