Vladimir Putin has revealed what he and US president-elect Donald Trump spoke about in a recent phone call.

Let's face it, we would all love to have listened in on that convo. I'm guessing they weren't having the usual pleasantries about the weather or what they were doing at the weekend.

Speaking during a conference about foreign policy, Putin said: "During my recent telephone conversation with Mr. Donald Trump, our opinions coincided that the current, unsatisfactory state of Russia-US relations, certainly must be straightened out.

"As I already have said, our country is prepared to go down our part of that road."

He went on to say that he wants to get on with the incoming US administration. He said: "We don't want confrontation with anyone. We don't need it. We are not seeking and have never sought enemies. We need friends."

A clip of the speech was posted to YouTube and has already had thousands of views, with many positive comments from people about the president and president-elect's relationship.

Both Putin and Trump have spoken about each other with a certain amount of respect in the past.

Putin's recent actions, such as running a nuclear war drill and breeding a bunch of clone dogs, has seen many speculating that Putin was gearing up to start World War III.

So, hopefully his new pal, Trump, can ensure that doesn't happen.
