There’s a pressure point on the knee ‘to stop you pooping too much’

Dr. Anis Khalaf claims there is an acupressure point that will 'ease going to the bathroom too much'

A doctor from Florida claims there's a pressure point on the knee 'to stop you pooping too much' if you suffer from IBS symptoms. Watch below:

According to the NHS, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms can consist of stomach pains, excessive wind, bloating or diarrhoea.

But Dr. Anis Khalaf says there's a potential solution if you're having to go to the bathroom quite often.

He uses a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) take on an acupuncture or acupressure point called Stomach, or St 36, to ease the need to go to the bathroom.

As shown in the clip, there's a pressure point just below your knee, which if you press it in the right way, might stop you from feeling the urge to use the restroom.

Writing in the caption, he said that symptoms 'vary from person to person and may be caused by stress and lifestyle changes'.

He added: "Avoiding inflammatory foods, taking enzymes, reducing stress, and exercise are things you’ll want to talk about with your doctor."

Additionally, Dr Kerry Boyle, who specialises in acupuncture, has also weighed in on TCM methods for relieving constipation.

She told Healthline: "Fortunately, it’s possible to relieve constipation with natural remedies like acupressure.

"This involves applying physical pressure to various points on your body to support digestion and induce bowel movements.

"You can do acupressure on yourself or have it done by a trained professional.

"In either case, it’s important to understand how it works, as well as the potential side effects."

The doctor further explained: "Acupressure is type of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It’s a form of acupuncture, which is the practice of stimulating specific points on your body by inserting tiny needles into your skin.

"When pressure is used to activate these points, as in massage, it’s known as acupressure.

"According to TCM, your body has a vital energy called qi. This energy flows through channels in your body, called meridians. These meridians are thought to be connected to your tissues and organs.

"TCM practitioners maintain that a balanced Qi is necessary for good health.

"If your Qi is blocked or imbalanced, health issues can develop. This includes ailments such as; pain, discomfort, constipation.

"Therapies like acupressure are used to balance qi. In acupressure, a practitioner uses their fingers or hands to apply physical pressure on certain points along your body’s meridians. This is said to trigger a response that promotes healing and relief."
