400 Metre Hurdle Finish Goes Viral After Athlete Goes ‘Full Superman’

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope, it's a bloke called Infinite Tucker and he's the human version of Superman.

Tucker, who might just have the greatest name in sport, was taking part in the 400m hurdle final at the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Track and Field Championships in America when he quickly became an online sensation.

Tucker was neck-and-neck with fellow athlete Robert Grant in the final stages of the race, when he decided to get over the line in the most unconventional of ways.

I mean, athletes are known for doing whatever it takes to win, but to literally launch yourself full Superman-style has really surpassed the concept of pushing your body beyond its limits for the sake of sport.

If only everyone was as dedicated to winning as Infinite Tucker. Just look at that spring... and that face plant!

"He went full Superman!" SEC Network wrote on Twitter, sharing the footage.

The clip soon racked up the attention it deserved, garnering 17,000 likes, with many people commentating on his unbelievable dedication.

One Twitter user said: "I'd expect nothing less from a man named Infinite."

Someone else joked: "To infinity and beyond."

A third added: "This is the best thing I've seen all day."

Another person suggested all runners should do this to win their race, while some speculated he was about to fall anyway and was simply styling it out.

Either way, you can't deny that's dedication.

After the race, Tucker revealed what inspired him to Superman his way to victory.

"I closed my eyes over hurdle 10. I opened it, saw my Ma at the finish, and I jumped to give her a hug," he told ESPN.

"I just gave it my all and I felt like diving to the finish was me using my whole body. I just gave it my all that race."

On the other hand, Tucker's opponent, Robert Grant, was far from pleased with the way it ended.

"If I say what I thought on this camera microphone right now, Coach [Pat] Henry would kick me off the team," he said after the race.

Well, folks, it seems there is a superhero in all of us - we just need the courage to put on the cape.
