Darren Till promised to give up his fight purse if he carried through with a violent threat for his face-off with Tommy Fury.

The pair were set to go head-to-head in a professional boxing bout in January, but that now all seems to be over thanks to fresh statements.

Fury called off the fight this morning (6 December) as he said he’s ‘wasted weeks’ training but won’t fight Till if he’s going to ‘resort to kicking’.

This all kicked off thanks to his opponent saying he would ‘kick him in the face’. However, Till’s response today says this was all just a ‘mental warfare tactic’ and he would never break the boxing rules.

And reposting Fury’s statement, boxing manager, Lee Eaton, hit back to clear up the claims.

“Just to clarify Darren was asked to sell the fight & he did – DT even offered to forfeit his entire purse if he broke professional boxing rules,” he wrote on X.

Eaton also added that it is confirmed the fighter will ‘still be fighting Jan 18th’.

Pulling out of the bout, Fury wrote on Instagram: "I can't believe l'm writing this but I am now not fighting Darren Till on January 18th 2025. For the one simple reason being that Darren has stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is losing the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics.

"I am a professional boxer, I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans. I have wasted weeks in training camp.

"We are working hard to get a new opponent and date. I promise to get a better opponent and better fight for you guys. Good news around the corner."

But calling him a ‘sh**house’ with an explosive video on X, Till claimed he ‘knew’ Fury was going to pull out of the fight ‘regardless of anything’.

"Never in a million years would I throw a head kick in a fight that is only boxing rules," he added. "I stick to the rules. I've always abided by the rules throughout my whole career."

Till wrote: “Tommy Fury u are the biggest sh**house I have ever met in my life do not ever call yourself a fighter again I was selling the fight to make me and you more money you absolute empty head fighting family my ass you and ur dad sh**houses I don’t need to throw kicks you was getting knocked spark out you divvy we was making bank on this fight cos of me not you I was building it you should be fighting and should be thanking me… over and out… no one wants to fight me… Jake Paul what are you up to you big fat dummy?”
