This summer of sport is set to be epic, with wall-to-wall football clashes and enough action to satisfy even the thirstiest fan. With so many reasons to head down to the pub, we doubt you need another one. But hey, we'll give you one anyway.

Fancy supporting community grassroots sport simply by buying a pint? Of course you would. Well, Greene King is helping you to do just that. The pub company and brewer is stepping up to the plate with their Proud to Pitch In scheme, which gives cash grants to grassroots and community sports clubs across the UK.

Until 14th July, every single pint of Greene King beer you purchase at hundreds of participating pubs will automatically donate 10p to the fund. That's millions of potential pints, all contributing to community sports clubs across the UK.

This isn’t Greene King’s first rodeo when it comes to supporting grassroots sport. Their Proud to Pitch In scheme has already helped more than 250 clubs across the UK through the sales of Greene King IPA. But this new initiative is their most ambitious yet, aiming to raise a huge £1 million for the initiative by the end of the current tournament.

This funding will be a lifeline for clubs, allowing them to invest in equipment, facilities, and other tools to continue playing the sport they love, whether that’s football, rugby, cricket, hockey, and plenty more. It’s all about supporting as many local teams across the UK to ensure that future generations can experience the joy of sport.

The Proud to Pitch In scheme is open for applications now, with clubs able to apply for grants of up to £4,000 each. You can also nominate your local community club, so if you know of a team that would benefit from some extra support then make sure you share the love. Details of how to apply can be found here.

Fancy helping your local team while enjoying a pint? Thought so. Find your nearest participating Greene King pub and get involved: https://www.greeneking.co.uk/live-sport/football/euros
