Sports pundit Laura Woods sparked concern among fans after suddenly collapsing live on air while covering the Lionesses clash against Ghana.

The 38-year-old was broadcasting live on ITV4 alongside Ian Wright and Anita Asante when she began to fall forwards.

The trio were providing commentary from Southampton on the women's international friendly on Tuesday (2 December) evening when the mum-of-one appeared to pass out.

Her co-stars promptly tried to catch her as she appeared to faint in front of the cameras, which quickly cut away from Woods to instead show a view of the stadium.

Despite this, the audio appeared to briefly continue and former Arsenal player Wright, 62, was heard asking: "Are you okay?"

The coverage of the England Women's game then cut to an ad break as staff tended to TNT Sports star Woods.

Woods was then replaced on-screen by Scottish swimmer Katie Shanahan, who explained that her colleague had 'taken ill'.

"As you have probably noticed we don't have the wonderful Laura Woods because she's just been taken ill," Shanahan told viewers. "But she's in very good hands, so I'm stepping in at late notice."

Concerned fans quickly took to social media to share their well wishes with Woods, with one writing: "Hope Laura Woods is okay!"

Another said: "Hope Laura Woods is alright. Get well soon!"

And a third added: "Hope Laura Woods is OK. Never good seeing someone collapse like that."

ITV have not yet shared an official comment in regards to Woods condition, however, her fiancé and former Love Island star Adam Collard has since shared an update.

In a post on X, he wrote: "Laura is all ok and with the right people. Thank you for all of your kind messages."

The couple welcomed a baby boy - named Leo Ernie Collard - in January this year. Collard popped the question in September 2024, around a year after they first went public with their relationship.

Woods, who hails from Dagenham, has become a formidable force in the world of live football coverage over the last few years and regularly presents for big broadcasters such as ITV, Amazon Prime and TNT Sports. She returned to screens in April after giving birth to her son.

The Lionesses are taking on Ghana tonight for their fourth and final 'homecoming' friendly following their Euro 2025 triumph this summer.

Midfielder Lucia Kendall bagged her first goal for England in the first six minutes, while the score currently stands at 1-0.

However, Chloe Kelly was forced off in the first half after less than 30 minutes on the pitch due to an injury.

Meanwhile, fans have been praising the presenting team for handling the situation so professionally after the incident involving Woods unfolded live on air.

One person said: "Full respect to the presenter who had to step in with zero notice after Laura Woods fainted. She’s making it look easy."

Another added: "Really hope Laura Woods is okay. Fair play to Ian Wright and Anita Asante for catching her. Fair play to the stand in presenter who stepped in, some effort that."
