Football presenter Laura Woods has released a statement after suddenly collapsing while live on air.
The British pundit was live on ITV with Anita Asante and Ian Wright when she suddenly fell forward while the latter was speaking about the Lionesses' game against Ghana on Tuesday (2 December).
Wright even managed to react quickly and catch Woods as the trio were delving into the women's international friendly clash at St Mary's Stadium in Southampton.
Asante was also seen helping the 38-year-old, as the broadcast feed promptly cut away to a shot of the pitch from the stands, with audio continuing as Arsenal legend Wright could be heard asking if Woods was okay.

Soon after, it cut to an ad break, with Woods being replaced in the line-up by Scottish swimmer Katie Shanahan.

Shanahan explained that they didn't have 'the wonderful Laura Woods' as she had 'just been taken ill', adding: "But she's in very good hands, so I'm stepping in at late notice."
Many were left perplexed by the situation on social media, as viewers sent their best to the TNT Sports presenter, whose fiancé Adam Collard shared on X: "Laura is all ok and with the right people. Thank you for all of your kind messages."
Woods has now updated viewers on her health with a statement on Instagram, reading: "Gosh that was a bit weird.

"Sorry to worry everyone, I’m Ok, the wonderful paramedics at Saints have said it’s probably a virus, just need a bit of rest and rehydration.
"I’m really embarrassed that happened on TV, but a big thank you to my colleagues at ITV who have really looked after me tonight."
The pundit concluded: "And to Wrighty and Neets for catching me, and sorry again x."
While the mum-of-one was unnecessarily apologetic, many were relieved to hear that she was doing okay.

Woods has become a familiar face in the football world, returning to screens in April after a break following the birth of her son.
As for the game itself, the Lionesses took Ghana on in a fourth friendly in a row following their triumphant Euro 2025 win last summer.
A well taken goal from midfielder Lucia Kendall got England off the mark, while Arsenal attacker Alessia Russo sealed the win with a stoppage time penalty after Chloe Kelly was forced off with an injury after just 30 minutes in a 2-0 victory.
A number of people took to social media to praise the professionalism of the ITV team to continue analysing the game after Woods was taken into care.
