Bad Bunny was booked to play the actual halftime show and got a hugely positive reaction from the crowd, though US President Donald Trump whinged that he didn't like it.
Indeed, for an event that has been touted as something a deeply divided America can at least come together on, there was a divisive element in the halftime show in the form of an alternate version.

Kid Rock was the headline act, while it also had country music singers Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett performing, and managed to get about five million people watching live.

In the run-up to the Super Bowl, Turning Point people described their alternate show as a celebration of 'faith, family, and freedom'.
However, while they managed to get a few million people watching their show, the viewing figures are likely to be dwarfed by the number of people who tuned in to watch the genuine article.
USA Today reports it'll take some time to work out how many million people watched the Super Bowl but it estimated that this year's viewing figures were likely to be around 125 million.
Last year's audience of 127.7 million was the largest ever TV audience for the Super Bowl, with the number of folks tuning in from the sofa swelling significantly in the past few years.
In the past five years, the audience for the game has grown by over 25 million, so interest in the Super Bowl has been rising for some time now.

As for what Bad Bunny got up to during his halftime show, he was joined by famous faces such as Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin and Pedro Pascal.
A couple also appeared to get married during his performance, with a representative telling Variety that the ceremony wasn't just for show and that it was actually two people having an actual wedding.
The singer also held up a ball which said 'Together We Are America' on it, while he also shared the message 'the only thing more powerful than hate is love' to the stadium as he performed.
