Before you bet your house on the fact that Usain Bolt could outrun anything, you might want to watch this simulation first.
He's been retired for eight years now, but no one has yet managed to snatch the title of 'fastest man on the planet' from the star sprinter.
I'm sure you are already well aware, but Bolt really lives up to his surname, as he managed to run 100m in just 9.58 seconds while competing at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.
This feat cemented his name in the history books, as did the eight gold medals he won at the Olympics and the multiple world records he has set.
Needless to say, Bolt is absolutely rapid on the track.
He described being dubbed the fastest man in the world as 'an amazing thing to be labelled' while speaking to The Guardian in 2021.
The father-of-three then added: "When people come up to me, no matter who they are, the first thing they always say is: 'Do you want a race?' It’s great to feel so appreciated."
Bolt easily outpaced his competitors prior to his retirement in 2017 (Cameron Spencer/Getty Images) Although he'd easily outpace the majority of his fans, the same can't be said if you pitted him against a cheetah.
Aptly, these big cats are the fastest land animal on the planet, so it's at least a fair fight.
They can hit staggering speeds of up to 75mph and are ridiculously light on their feet - making Bolt's 27.8mph sprint in 2009 look like a snail's pace.
And when you watch this simulation of the sprinter going head-to-head with a cheetah, you'll see exactly what I mean.
YouTube channel Global Data shared a video of the mock race back in March this year, which includes an 'epic 3D speed comparison between the fastest man alive, Usain Bolt, and nature’s ultimate sprinter, the cheetah'.
It starts off by laying out some stats for each competitor, with Bolt's best time in a 100m race being 9.58 seconds, while the animal's personal best is an unbelievable 5.95 seconds.
Viewers then get to see a depiction of Bolt galloping down the track solo, before the cheetah takes its turn.
The pair then go up against each other - and unfortunately for the Jamaican athlete, the large cat seriously puts him to shame.
It leaves Bolt in its dust as it roars down the track on all fours, and by the time the cheetah has crossed the finish line, the sprinter has still got a lot of catching up to do.
For argument's sake, the creators of the simulation then gave the 38-year-old a 'big head start' to see if he would fare any better in the race.
Sadly, the video shows how the cheetah still overtook Bolt with little effort - which is exactly why we warned you to hold off on putting your house on the line.
The cheetah triumphed over the world's fastest man in the 'epic' simulation (YouTube/Global Data) People were left stunned by the visuals of the animal barely breaking a sweat while going up against the athlete and flooded the comment section with their thoughts.
One person said: "Both speed marvels: just different physically & physiologically."
Another wrote: "Bolt is not used to seeing anyone in front of him!"
A third admitted: "When I was a kid, I always thought Usain Bolt was as fast as a cheetah."
And a fourth joked: "Now let’s see the cheetah on two legs."
Here's hoping that can be arranged.
