A football-filled summer was always likely to cause issues for some couples and that seemingly even includes those who went to the World Cup together.
The good news for those who don't enjoy non-stop matches and waking up at 2am is that we've only got the semi-finals and final to go now, with England still in with a good chance if they can sneak past Argentina and Lionel Messi in Wednesday's crunch match.
It's been a World Cup filled with memorable moments both on and off the pitch but the latest moment that viewers couldn't take their eyes off involved a couple having an argument.
As much as we might like to pretend otherwise, it's always fun to be a little nosy when it comes to other people's relationships and the camera operator clearly agreed as they filmed a viral moment in the South Africa vs South Korea match.

Things weren't just going south on the pitch however as we witness a man and a woman stood together waving flags, before the mood immediately shifts when he looks at his phone and quickly puts it away.
Now, this is rarely a good move and the woman confronts him until he eventually puts his phone away, but that's clearly not enough to win her over as she sits down looking visibly upset.

Determined to dig himself a hole, the man then decides to feed his last bit of food to another woman who is next to him, which likely landed him in even more trouble.
Social media users have been commenting on the moment almost as much as the football itself, especially after a viral post claimed that the woman should 'file for divorce'.
“How can I file a divorce for someone else?” the post queried.
“Mood went from 100 to 0 in a split second,” another user posted on TikTok.
“I could feel her heart sink into her stomach, because I’m also a woman,” a third wrote.
People were obviously wondering exactly what the argument was about but it certainly seems to be related to his phone, whether it was something he was looking at or the simple fact that he was on it after likely spending a large amount of money to be at the match.
Some simply couldn't comprehend why the camera operator was so invested, with one joking that it was the same person who caught the Coldplay kiss scandal on camera last year.

Back in July 2025, we were all treated to a frankly iconic moment between Andy Byron, the CEO of tech company Astronomer, and the company’s Head of HR, Kristin Cabot, who were clearly in a relationship that they didn't want others to know about.
In this case, the South African fan is unlikely to lose his job but he might want to be a little more careful around his partner if he wants her to stick around for the long term, as her body language suggests that she wasn't happy at all with his actions.
South Africa would eventually lose to co-hosts Canada in the round of 32, while one of their players, Jayden Adams, tragically passed away mere days after his last appearance at the tournament.
