Stephen Bear Appears In Court After Being Arrested For Breaching Bail Conditions

The 32-year-old appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 16 February)

Stephen Bear appeared in court today after being arrested for breaching bail conditions by discussing his upcoming trial for secretly filming and posting sexual footage without consent on social media.

The 32-year-old appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 16 February) after being re-arrested earlier that day, according to the Metro.

It is alleged that he uploaded the sexual images to porn sites OnlyFans and Pornhub.

He faces charges of one count of voyeurism and two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs or films with intent to cause distress.

Colchester Magistrate’s Court also said in a statement supplied to the Metro: "Stephen Bear, 32, of Loughton, appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on 16 February where he admitted breaching bail conditions. He has been bailed to appear at court in December."

Bear, from Loughton, Essex, was a contestant on MTV's Ex On The Beach in 2015 and 2016, and also won the 18th series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2016.

He had been due to stand trial on 7 February this year, but days before it was due to begin the trial was pushed back until the end of the year.

Last July, he pleaded not guilty to the offences, telling Chelmsford Crown Court at the end of the hearing: "Thank you for that. It’s nice to finally set a date when I can hopefully get my life back."

He also gave the judge a double thumbs up.

Just before Bear left the dock, Judge Christopher Morgan told him: "Your trial is now fixed for 7 February next year.

"If you don't attend when required to do so a warrant may be issued for your arrest."

The television personality had arrived at court in a black Mercedes with a custom number plate spelling his name.

As he left the court, he did another thumbs up to the cameras and shouted the words 'not guilty' from the steps.

Earlier this month, Bear said he was 'going away for a little while' and had 'chosen to come away from social media.

The next day, he shared several photos of himself and partner Jessica Smith in novelty prison outfits, and has also posted a number of times since.

Bear is now due to face trial on 6 December at Chelmsford Crown Court.
