PlayStation users have noticed a big problem with the PS5 Pro that could end up costing them more than they would have hoped.
The gaming world was rocked earlier today when Sony announced that the PlayStation 5 Pro would be hitting shelves on 7 November 2024, with pre-orders set to be accepted from 26 September 2024 from participating retailers and the official PlayStation website.
It's huge news for fans of the console, as several new and improved features have been introduced, albeit at an increased price.

For a further enhanced gaming experience, you'll have to fork out a hefty £699.99, while a regular digital PlayStation 5 will only set you back £389.99.
Brits were in shock over the fact that once again, the console was selling for cheaper in other countries, as it will be listed at $699.99 in the US, €799.99 in Europe and ¥119,980 in Japan.
Sony called the Pro the 'most advanced and innovative console hardware to date'.

One user took to X, saying: "Of course the Brits have to pay more for it too," while another added: "I knew it was gonna be expensive but I was still shocked."
However, fans have realised something missing from the PS5 Pro that is sure to send several heads spinning, given the eye-watering price slapped on the console.
The gaming system will be fully digital, meaning there is no disc slot on the console at all.

Originally, the PS5 came in Digital and Standard forms, with Standard coming with the additional disc slot for around £80-£100 more, depending on where you look.
Nowadays, you can find a standard console for £469.99, but for £699.99, the Pro doesn't come with the option.
However, it is stated on the official PlayStation blog that: "(The) PS5 Pro is available as a disc-less console, with the option to purchase the currently available Disc Drive for PS5 separately."
The official PS5 Disc Drive can be purchased for £99.99 from the official store, meaning that if you have some games on discs that you want to play on your new PS5 Pro, you'll be splashing out just shy of £800 on your gaming experience.

Fans of the console took to X to complain about this key feature that is missing from the Pro, as one said: "800 EURO for the PS5 Pro and it's seemingly digital-only, there's no point in buying this"
Another added: "So is that £700 for a PS5 Pro all digital????"
A third pointed out: "So you telling me the PS5 Pro is $700 without a vertical stand and is digital only without a disc drive? And if you want the disc drive it’s a separate $100?"

So, what improvements are you getting for the £200+ uptick in price?
Well, on the official PlayStation blog, it is stated that they have managed to achieve 'even higher fidelity graphics with smoother frame rates at 60FPS'.
To achieve this, they have upgraded GPU that has 67 percent more Compute Units than the current generation with 28 percent faster memory, while adding Advanced Ray Tracing and AI-Driven Upscaling to enhance graphics.
PS5 Pro Game Boost is also included with more than 8,500 backward compatible PS4 games that will be playable on the new console, while the latest wireless technology, Wi-Fi 7, will be utilised in territories that support it.
"VRR and 8K gaming are also supported," they add.
You can even swap the console covers out when new colours and designs become available, while the Pro itself is the same height and width as the original, though with a strip through the middle.
