Truth Behind Internet Rumour That Fanta Lemon Will Be Discontinued On May 28th

Fizzy drink fans were sent into panic mode amid the rumours

Rumours of Fanta Lemon getting discontinued across Europe sparked utter panic amongst fizzy drink fans.

The gossip began on TikTok after someone shared a video holding up a couple of yellow cans over a swimming pool.

User @bushrod_ captioned the viral clip with: "Fanta Lemon discontinued from all EU countries from 28th May 2022.

"Holidays never gunna be the same :("

They added: "gunna be a sad day for all."

People were shocked by the supposed news. One user commented: "Cheers, sons crying." Another added: "no pls im actually going to cry."

Many Brits consider Fanta Lemon to be the drink they have on holiday, and were gutted to say the least at the rumour.

However, it turns out that the rumours were just rumours.

A Coca-Cola Great Britain spokesperson told The Sun: “We continue to offer a wide range of Fanta flavours across Europe, and Fanta Lemon continues to be a key part of this portfolio.”

Now you can remove the grim thought of not sipping the yellow drink on your hols, it's important to remind ourselves that Fanta actually have loads more flavours that you've probably not tried.

As things stand, these are the flavours available on the CocaCola UK website today:

  • Fanta Orange
  • Fanta Grape
  • Fanta Zero strawberry and kiwi
  • Fanta Zero grape
  • Fanta Fruit Twist
  • Fanta Zero raspberry

Other flavours available are:

  • Fanta Pineapple
  • Fanta Strawberry
  • Fanta Peach
  • Fanta Mango
  • Fanta Cherry
  • Fanta Apple
  • Fanta Grapefruit
  • Fanta Berry
  • Fanta Green Apple
  • Fanta Fruit Punch

I mean, Fanta Mango...who knew? Rubicon might have some competition.

One thing we do know is that Coca Cola is the company that own Fanta – and the richest man in the world joked about buying it last week.

On 28 April, Elon Musk tweeted: "Next I'm buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in."

To give it some context, when Coca-Cola launched back in the 1800s, it used an extract from the coca leaf – used to make cocaine – but was removed in the early 1900s.

Since the news broke that Musk would become the owner of Twitter, the Tesla CEO has announced that he wants 'free speech' to be at the forefront of his takeover.

Musk said: "Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.

"I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans.

"Twitter has tremendous potential – I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it."
