Warning: Spoilers ahead if you, like Sean Bean, haven't watched to the end of Game of Thrones

Sean Bean has revealed he doesn't have a clue what happened at the end of Game of Thrones.

While there will be plenty of fans out there who will scoff, 'lucky you' at the thought of not having gone through the final season of the fantasy drama, it's a bit of a surprise.

You would think one of the show's best-loved characters, gone all too soon, would have stuck with it. But maybe he just didn't care once Ned Stark had been given the chop.

Speaking to The Times, Bean was asked whether he felt the Starks' decision to withdraw from the rest of Westeros at the end was similar to the Brexit situation.

Perplexed, the 62-year-old said: "No. What happened?"

When the reporter told him he didn't want to ruin the series for him should he decide to watch it all the way through, Bean said: "I'll have forgotten by then, go on," asking for more info on the ending.

He added: "So did Winterfell stay separate? Oh, good for them."

Bean played the Stark patriarch in the first season of GoT, but was killed off after things turned a bit sour between him and King Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy).

The show ran for an impressive eight series, with fans glued to their screens for every episode.

However, the final season was heavily criticised by many who felt it was a bit of a let down - so much so that 1.8 million people signed a petition to have the season redone 'with competent writers'.

And one writer decided to take on the challenge and had a go at creating an ending he felt the fans deserved.

Daniel Whidden created the story with new outcomes and character arcs, which he explains with an extremely inventive 16-minute YouTube video.

Here's his description of his narrative: "We start with episode three, the Battle of Winterfell. And for the most part, this episode will play out much like it did in the real version.

"The combined forces of the unsullied, the Dothraki, Northman and wildlings face off against the Night King and his undead horde."

Listen to his thoughts in full below:

Whidden continues: "Meanwhile, Cersei, the golden company and the iron fleet chill in King's Landing having reneged on their promise to help in the upcoming war. But this episode will have one major difference that will completely change the episodes to come.

"The Night King will be victorious and the remaining forces of Winterfell will be forced to retreat to King's Landing."

The reaction to the video was nothing but positive with one fan saying: "While listening to your story, I kind of imagined all your story and forgot what I have watched, and feel much happier now, thanks for that."

Another added: "Now I'm gonna watch this video 10 times to brainwash myself into believing that this is what really happens."
