TV hosts are shocked by kid’s savage joke about dead vegan and vegetarian

TV hosts are shocked by kid’s savage joke about dead vegan and vegetarian

It has been labelled 'the single greatest moment in television history’.

A kid has gone viral on social media for a particularly savage joke.

The Today Show hosts Karl Stefanovic, Sarah Abo and Brooke Boney all patiently sat to hear a kid deliver the brutal punchline.

He asked the presenters: "A vegan and a vegetarian are jumping off a cliff to see who will hit the bottom first. Who wins?"

With a momentary pause for added suspense, the kid then said: "Society."

Stefanovic fell to the floor, Boney put her hands to her mouth in shock and Abo couldn't stop laughing.

The kid looked pretty chuffed with himself as he watched the presenters in absolute stitches.

His mum piped up and questioned whether he was allowed to say such brutal savagery on national television and Sarah quickly noted: "Well, he just did!"

The clip has gone viral on social media and American commentator Benny Johnson has even labelled it ‘the single greatest moment in television history’.

People were similarly blown away by the short but sweet joke.

One said: "That kid's got more wit and humour than a lot of comedians today."

Another added: "I've just broken a rib, awesome kid. Give that kid a cigar. Respect."

A third wrote: "I'm not even this kid's dad, and he still made me proud."

It seems like the target of the joke also had a field day with it.

"As a vegetarian I must admit I just peed my pants a little. Amazing kid," said one user.

Another quipped: "As a vegetarian I found that joke hilarious."

However, some people were understandably upset that a kid was talking about people dying.

A critic said: "Such a great job of raising your kids, NOT, the joke is funny but this is how morals and compassion die."

A different user wrote: "Society wins when animals are killed?"

The Daily Mail says the joke was completely unplanned and Today producers weren't expecting it.

If you want a punchline that's a little more PG then look no further than the joke that won an award at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

After a panel of judges made a shortlist of their top 10 side splitters, more than 2,000 people voted on what joke was top of the pack.

Lorna Rose Treen won with: "I started dating a zookeeper, but it turned out he was a cheetah."

Unsurprisingly, the West Midlands comedian has won other major comedy awards and bills herself as the ‘the greatest thing to come out of Redditch since the fishing tackle’.
