A dad was left feeling VERY red-faced while on holiday recently - not from the intense Portuguese sun rays, but due to the sheer embarrassment of seeing his 'designer' swimming shorts dissolving before his very eyes.

Oh, and it was all caught on camera, just to add insult to injury.

Dad-of-three Dean Hague, 55, was enjoying a day out at a waterpark in Portugal and decided to don a new pair of shorts gifted to him by his son-in-law, Luke Whitham, 28.

But Dean - from Barnsley in South Yorkshire - soon realised that he was the butt of a pretty savage joke, as the shorts suddenly split in half and began to disappear.

Luke had plotted the cheeky trick with Dean's wife Lynne, 50, and daughter Bethany, 30, before their prank played out in front of their entire party of 12 holidaying together.

In the amusing clip, lab technician Dean can be seeing walking from a flume as the shorts begin to vanish, in turn revealing his backside as he desperately attempts to cover his modesty.

Farm manager Luke, also from Barnsley, said: "He's one of those who isn't too fussed about what he wears so his wife buys all his clothes.

"She said told him I'd bought him some nice shorts and he thought they were designer. He was blaming Lynne at first."

Prankster Luke had bought the pair of shorts from eBay for £23.99, before concocting the elaborate plan with Lynne, getting her to save the new garment for their day at the waterpark.

The dad-of-four continued: "He came down the slide and got stuck and we were all laughing so he thought that's what we were laughing at - but we knew what was going to happen.

"The shorts started to split and we were laughing our heads off. He was so embarrassed because all the lifeguards were laughing at him.

"He hid behind a bin to try and get out of public view but all 12 of us were there with our cameras out.

"He is a prankster but he's never done anything like this to me and I know to be aware now.

"If you know him, it couldn't happen to a better person because he's got such a good sense of humour."

Fair play to him - though Luke, if I were you, I'd be watching my back...
