A British scaffolder has won an eye-watering £11,498,211.89 jackpot from just a £1.50 stake.

Arron Freeman won the life-changing sum on 5 June via Betfred's Slot Game Mega Moolah.

The 44-year-old's win marked Betfred's largest ever payout in its 58-year history, which prompted boss Fred Done to give him a call.

"It’s still sinking in, but it was class of Fred to phone me," Arron, who wasn't directly named, told Betfred.

"He told me to look after my cash and that is my plan.

"I’m looking forward to meeting Fred at a Manchester United home game.

"Hopefully, we will both celebrate if the reds win."

I mean, you've got more chance winning the lottery than seeing United pick up three points at home these days.

Now, after taking home an incredible amount of money, it seems Arron hopes to do a lot of good with it.

According to The Sun, the ASL Scaffolding owner said he would use the millions to help the less fortunate.

Along with wanting to build a homeless shelter, the kindhearted dad-of-two said he wants to sell his story to build more cash towards it.

Arron told the Eastern Daily Press: "I am in shock, but I am not gonna say too much at the minute.

"The money the highest bidder gives me is going to go to be put towards building a homeless shelter, so it’s going to go to a good cause.

"I am waiting to hear back from other papers and don’t want to say too much more at the moment.

"I won’t say anything else until figures are out in front of me."

The outlet reports that Arron has been living between his wife's parents' pub and his father's house in Mulbarton, Norwich.

A mate, who wanted to remain anonymous, revealed: “Aaron is still in shock, and it hasn’t really set in.

“Of course, it is a life-changing amount of money, so it’s something I think he is coming to terms with.

“He is a father, and I think he’s still trying to get his head around it.

“I think he and his partner are off on holiday and are going to take some time to decide their options.

"I’ve been a horse racing punter my whole life and hit the cross bar a few times with some of my accas but obviously never hit the jackpot like this," Arron added.

"It was the missus' idea that we gave the casino a go and we certainly got lucky. I love racing so I will still have a bet on the horses, but it will still be my normal small stakes."
